NYC weekend street closures: St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Queens and more

NYC weekend street closures: St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Queens and more

This weekend, there will be three St. Patrick’s Day-related events and one 5K race that will cause street closures in Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island.

The NYPD and city Department of Transportation have released the following street closures for events and parades this weekend. Plan accordingly.

Saturday, March 4

In Queens, the following streets will be closed from 1 to 5 p.m. for the Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

  • Newport Avenue between Beach 130th and 116th streets
  • Beach 129th Street between Newport Avenue and Rockaway Beach Boulevard
  • Rockaway Beach Boulevard between Beach 130th and 129th streets
  • Beach 116th Street between Newport Avenue and Rockaway Beach Boulevard
  • Rockaway Beach Boulevard between Beach 116th and 99th streets
  • Beach 102nd Street between Rockaway Freeway and Rockaway Beach Boulevard

Sunday, March 5

In Manhattan, the following streets will be closed on Sunday, from 8:30 am to 2 p.m., for the Washington Heights Salsa Blues and Shamrocks 5K Run:

  • Ft. Washington Avenue between 168th Street and Cabrini Boulevard
  • West 169th Street between Haven Avenue and Broadway
  • West 170th Street between Haven Avenue and Ft. Washington Avenue
  • West 172nd Street between Haven Avenue and Broadway
  • Margaret Corbin Boulevard between Cabrini Boulevard and Loop (inside Fort Tryon Park)

The following streets in Queens will be closed from 1 to 3 p.m. for St. Patrick’s Day event:

  • Skillman Avenue between 43rd and 56th streets
  • 43rd Street between Skillman and Barnett avenues
  • 56th Street between Skillman and Woodside avenues
  • Woodside Avenue between 56th and 61st streets

On Staten Island, the following streets will be closed for the Richmond County St. Patrick’s Day Parade from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m.

  • Hart Boulevard between Forest Avenue and Revere Street
  • Forest Avenue between Hart Boulevard and Jewett Avenue
  • Forest Avenue between Jewett and Ordell avenues

Note there may be delays and additional street closures depending on the amount of people at these events.
