NYPD identifies 17-year-old homicide victim, investigation ongoing

NYPD identifies 17-year-old homicide victim, investigation ongoing

On Monday night shortly after 6:00 p.m., police responded to a call of an assault in the vicinity of Flatbush Avenue Extension and Dekalb Avenue, NYPD sources reported, adding that two victims had been transported to area hospitals after being shot outside at the location.

Armani Hankins, a 17 year-old male from Queens, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was removed to Brooklyn Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. The second victim, an 18-year-old male, was shot in the left ankle and taken to Methodist Hospital where he is in stable condition, the NYPD claimed. No arrests have been made, and police report that the investigation is ongoing.
