In that first incident, a 27-year-old woman reported seeing a man masturbate under his clothing around 1 a.m. after he asked her if the F train they were on was an express train, authorities stated. He exited at the West 47thStreet stop.

This was followed by similar reports from women of a man masturbating under a hooded sweatshirt on the 1, E and N trains on April 1, April 29 and April 30, police added. On most occasions, victims said that the suspect asked them a question beforehand.

In a separate incident on April 29, a woman reported to police that the suspect exposed himself to her as he exited an E train at Canal Street.
