Man threatens woman on 3 train: ‘I will chop you up’

Police are seeking an at-large suspect who struck a subway rider with an unknown object before fleeing in Brooklyn.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities responded to a call of an assault on a southbound 3 train between Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway. The victim, a 29-year-old woman, had cuts on her right hand that were caused when the suspect struck her with an object wrapped in a cloth, police stated.

The victim told police that the suspect said, “I will chop you up on this train,” before hitting her.

The suspect, who fled the scene, is described as a black man who stands approximately 5-feet-9 and weighs about 175 pounds, according to police. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, green hat, camouflage pants and a backpack.
