Off with a bang! Cop car set on fire

An NYPD patrol car was set afire when lit fireworks were tossed inside in Brooklyn on Sunday, police said.

The car was unoccupied and no officers were injured.

Police were dispersing a crowd who had clustered at Carlton Avenue near Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene around 2:30 am when the car was when someone tossed a lit firework into the open window of the cruiser, according to the New York Post.

Cops used a fire extinguisher to douse the blaze, the paper reported.

A department spokesman said cops had yet to make an arrest for the fire, but five people at the scene were arrested for unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct.
