An NYPD patrol car was set afire when lit fireworks were tossed inside in Brooklyn on Sunday, police said.
The car was unoccupied and no officers were injured.
Police were dispersing a crowd who had clustered at Carlton Avenue near Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene around 2:30 am when the car was when someone tossed a lit firework into the open window of the cruiser, according to the New York Post. Cops used a fire extinguisher to douse the blaze, the paper reported.
A department spokesman said cops had yet to make an arrest for the fire, but five people at the scene were arrested for unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct.
