One dead, two wounded in shooting near Penn Station early Monday

One dead, two wounded in shooting near Penn Station early Monday

One victim is dead and two others are injured after a shooting near Penn Station on Mondaymorning that started in an area McDonald’s, police said.

The NYPD said the fatal shooting happened just after 6 a.m. in the area of 35th Street and Eighth Avenue.

Officials later said at a press conference a group of men started arguing at the McDonald’s at 490 Eighth Ave., and the fight carried over to an A, C, E train subway entance at 35th Street.

A43-year-old man was shot once in the neck and died in the subway, police said.

A 45-year-old man was shot in the neck and abdomen, and a 48-year-old man was shot in the leg. Both men were taken to Bellevue Hospital and are expected to survive.

None of the victims have been identified.

Police said the shooter may have escaped in a silver car.

A man claiming to be a brother of one of the victims said the men were “coaxed” out of the McDonald’s, NBC New York reported.

Several streets near the shooting remain closed as police investigate.
