The NYPD is searching for two seemingly unconnected ATM-skimming duos that have taken thousands in cash in recent months.

Two men attached a skimming device to an ATM in the Green Gourmet Deli at 790 Lexington Ave, according to an NYPD statement. During the first eight days of December, the thieves used fabricated ATM cards to remove cash from victims’ bank accounts, taking in approximately $9,000 in total.

In an apparently unrelated coincidence, the NYPD is seeking another duo of ATM-skimming thieves operating in a similar way but in different neighborhoods.

In October, this duo placed a skimming device at a CVS at 420 Fifth Ave. and a Bank of America at 21 E. 96th St., police stated, adding that the duo then used the duplicated cards at Queens banks to withdraw cash from victims’ accounts, netting nearly $8,000.

Police were able to capture photos of three of the suspects as they used the cards at other ATMs to withdraw money.
