A Monday morning power outage at Grand Central turned the normally busy and bright train station into a sea of darkness.
Luckily, the outage occurred on a federal holiday, Presidents Day, and was only causing minor disruptions, according to media reports.
The blackout was on the lower level only, and train were currently using the upper level, with no service issues so far due to the holiday schedule, ABC 7 reported. RELATED:MTA shows off progress on LIRR extension to Grand Central
According to NBC New York, it was not immediately clear what cause the outage, but the weather could be one possibility. It also wasn’t clear when power would be restored. As commuters waited in the dark for their trains, they took these photos of the unusual scene:
