The NYPD is looking for a 31-year-old man who they say was caught wheeling a dead body around in Staten Island early Friday morning.

On May 20 at 7:10 a.m. police responded to a call of an individual wheeling a body on a metal cart in front of 42 Post Lane, according to authorities.

When police arrived they saw the man – later identified as Anthony Lopez — who then took off running and left the body of an unconscious and unresponsive woman on the metal dolly, cops said.

Emergency personnel pronounced the women dead at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the identification of the woman is pending proper family notification.

Police have released a mug shot of Lopez – taken after an April fare evasion incident in Brooklyn – in hopes of locating him for questioning in connection to the “suspicious” incident.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
