Police looking for casino shooting suspect

Police have identified the alleged gunman who fired shots into the air at Resorts World Casino in Jamaica on Friday night.

Officers responded to 110-00 Rockaway Boulevard at 10:49 p.m. on Friday and did not find anyone in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Detectives used surveillance footage, a license plate number and facial recognition to identify the shooting suspect as Jaquan Roberts, 22.

He is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen on video leaving the casino’s parking lot in a He was arrested in 2010 on charges of possession of a loaded weapon after he shot himself in the leg with a .22 revolver, police said.

A large brawl involving an estimated two dozen people broke out inside the casino’s new Fat Tuesday daiquiri bar shortly after police arrived to investigate the shooting. The fight was captured on video, and shows chairs being thrown and people fighting. Three people were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct. The shooting is not believed to be related to the melee.
