Police looking for suspect who gunned down man on Bronx street

Police continue to look for the suspect who gunned down a Bronx man in front of a 99 cent store in broad daylight on Wednesday.

Steven Maldonado, 22, was shot and killed outside the Rich 99 Cent & Up Store at 5221 Broadway. The Daily News reported that the suspect was hiding out inside the discount store, located in the Marble Hill area of the Bronx, before rushing out and firing the fatal shots.

Maldonado was pronounced dead a short time later at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

The NYPD describes the suspect as a black male with braids, 22-year-old, 5’10” and weighing between 200-220 pounds.
