Police looking for violent Staten Island purse snatchers

Police are looking for two teens who assaulted a 61-year-old woman last month in an attempt to steal her purse on Staten Island.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on March 13 in the area of Castleton Avenue and North Mada, when two suspects advanced on the victim from behind, and threw her down on the ground.

The men punched and kicked the woman and tried to steal her purse, but the victim was able to fight back against her attackers, and they fled.

Police believe the suspects are black males, between 15 and 17 years old.
