Police tracking coyote in Queens

NYPD calls off coyote hunt

Police from the 104th Precinct were in hot pursuit of a coyote in Middle Village, Queens, on Monday afternoon.

The NYPD tweeted out a photo of a the coyote, apparently napping alongside a house on Eliot Avenue, near Mt. Olivet Cemetery, around 11:18 a.m.

The creature has been running when approached, police said, and anyone who spots the animal is asked to call 911.

A coyote was spotted on Saturday morning in Battery Park City, before being tranquilized by an NYPD officer. The Battery Park coyote is now at the ASPCA.
