Central Park’s horse carriages will soon have to make room for the Popemobile.

The de Blasio administration confirmed Tuesday morning that Pope Francis will make an excursion through Central Park ahead of his Friday Mass at Madison Square Garden later this month.

“The procession through Central Park will give thousands of New Yorkers an opportunity to come face to face with Pope Francis,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement.

New Yorkers interested in catching a glimpse of the pope can enter a giveaway to win no more than two tickets for the procession on Sept. 25.

Tickets can be requested by visiting nyc.gov/papalvisit or by calling 311 between Sept. 3 and Sept. 7.

Winners will get a heads up about the tickets by Sept. 10. City Hall did not confirm how many tickets were available by Tuesday morning.

“We’re proud to welcome one of the world’s most powerful voices to our great city next month,” de Blasio added, “and we are grateful to the archdiocese for their cooperation in giving even more New Yorkers a chance to join in this historic visit.”
