The Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx was shut down for a short time on Wednesday when a pressure cooker was spotted on the roadway, but the expressway has since reopened.

The pressure cooker was found under the overpass at East 134th Street and Alexander Avenue around 5 p.m.

The object was cleared just before 7:30 p.m. and police say the pressure cooker was empty and there were no wires attached.
