This current crop of Rangers play their best in do-or-die situations. That’s the mindset for most New York hockey fans this evening.

The Rangers were blanked in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, losing 2-0 to Tampa Bay. Game 6 is Tuesday at Amalie Arena (8 p.m., NBCSN).

Valtteri Filppula and Steven Stamkosscored for the Lightning, both coming in the second period.

Ben Bishop outperformed Henrik Lundqvist, making 26 saves in the shutout win. Lundqvist had 20 saves.
