A school bus overturned Wednesday afternoon on the Cross Bronx Expressway in the Throgs Neck area of the Bronx.
The bus hit the back of a Toyota Camry in the southbound lane about 1:09 p.m., police said.
Five special needs children and three adults were on the bus. Some of the children were being treated for minor injuries; all of the passengers were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, according to reports. The bus hit the vehicle in front of it as the driver attempted to stop, which caused the bus to tilt slightly.
