A Sunday afternoon collision outside Forest Park left an 18-year-old skateboarder dead as authorities continued to investigate.

Around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, a New York City Parks Department truck hit a skateboarder leaving Forest Park near the corner of Forest Parkway and Park Lane South, policereported.

The teenager was rushed to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops said, adding that the Parks Department driver, 37, remained at the scene after the collision.

The incident occurred less than one mile from the Forest Park Skate Park, theNew York Daily News stated.

“I saw blood all over the ground but no wrecked cars, and it freaked me out because I’ve almost been hit at that intersection before,” a nearby teen said to the Daily News.

An investigation is ongoing, according to police, which also stated that no charges have been filed.
