Three people are reportedly dead after a small plane crashed near some schools in Syosset, New York on Tuesday afternoon. 

A Beech BE35 aircraft crashed on Cold Spring Road just after 3:39 p.m., Pix 11 reported. The crash was reportedly in a wooded area near South Woods Middle School, Syosset High school and Berry Hill Elementary School, and was preceded by a mayday call from the pilot. 

The plane was reportedly en route to Robertson Field in Plainville, Connecticut from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
