Anatole Abang is on the move, the New York Red Bulls forward is heading on loan to Europe – a league source tells Metro New York.

With the transfer window fast closing in Europe, a source tells Metro that Abang will be signing a loan deal with a Danish top-flite club, turning down stronger interest and offers from Switzerland and Turkey. He would become the second prominent player from the Red Bulls this season to move to Europe as earlier this year young American centerback Matt Miazga joined English Premier League side Chelsea on a transfer.

A 20-year old forward who is fast becoming a regular for Cameroon’s national team, Abang has found quality minutes on the pitch difficult to come by this MLS season. After last year’s rousing success, Abang has yet to score in eight appearances so far this year, equating to just 221 minutes on the field.

Last year he had four goals and an assist in 17 appearances including three starts for the Red Bulls. He is raw in some parts of his game but immensely skilled and talented. The loan deal does not have an option to buy the source said, meaning that Abang will return to the Red Bulls when the 12-month loan is completed.
