Now that we're into the gorgeous phase of spring, stay outside for happy hour at the High Line-adjacent Standard Biergarten, which returns to its summer hours beginning today.
The German-style beer hall has revamped its menu that, as a sign of our increasingly veggie-focused times, now has two vegetarian options. The processed meat fest adds a red cabbage salad with walnuts and apples, as well as root vegetables with bleu cheese. Carnivores weren't left out, either — there's a new grilled cheese and ham sandwich with spicy remoulade.
Also new is the Benediktiner Helles Lager, a fruity, full-bodied lager from Munich — get it by the liter, along with all of their other brews, for $9. The biergarten is open Sunday-Wednesday from noon to 1 a.m. and Thursday-Saturday from noon to 2 a.m.
