Suspect raped 82-year-old woman, held her hostage during Coney Island robbery: NYPD

Police are seeking a man that they say raped, held hostage and robbed an 82-year-old woman in Coney Island.

The young man reportedly snuck into the woman’s house while she was sweeping early Monday morning around 1 a.m. and hid inside her bedroom.

When the woman went back into her house the young man attacked her and demanded money. When she told him that she had no money he proceeded to hold her hostage and later rape her.

The suspect then left the house several hours later with a bag of clothes and an umbrella, according to police.

The woman was treated for her injuries at Kings County Hospital.

Police describe the suspect as “black, approximately 20-30 years old, 5’8″ tall, 160 pounds, with an Afro and a light beard.” At the time of the attack he was wearing a “white t-shirt with unknown writing on the front, gray sweat pants, and Converse sneakers with white laces.”
