The suspect sought in a recent strings of assaults on Asian womenwas found dead in an Upper East Side apartment buildingon Monday, police said.

Tyrell Shaw was accused of hitting several Asian women in the head with a bag containing a heavy object in seemingly random attacks this month. Police found him hanging from an elevator shaft on Monday afternoon.

Residents at the building at Madison Avenue and 66th Street told the Daily News that Shaw’s body was discovered after neighbors noticed a smell coming from the elevator shaft. Shaw was believed to be squatting in the building.

Shaw left a suicide note on his blog, called Mr. Talented, and in recent posts wrote about feeling rejected by Asian women, which he attributed to being black.

“This weekend I decided to talk to over 150 Asian Women, which ended horribly,” Shaw wrote on June 7. “I realized that I would have to use violence in order get the response that I desire. By starting an independent civil war where I will hit over a million Asian Women in the face with a stick will change history.”

All of the women whom Shaw attacked have since recovered, police said.
