A suspicious package sparked a brief shut-down of a section of Times Square Wednesday morning.
The NYPD Bomb Squad rushed to the scene on 42ndStreet between 8th and 7th avenues at around 9 a.m. and closed off streets in the vicinity for more than an hour, according to reports. Police roped off an area in front of a McDonald’s and people who work in buildings in the area were told to stay away,Fox5 reported. No one was allowed to enter or exit the 42nd Street subway station, Fox5 reported,disabling a major point of transportation during morning rush hour.
