A suspicious package sparked a brief shut-down of a section of Times Square Wednesday morning.

The NYPD Bomb Squad rushed to the scene on 42nd Street between 8th and 7th avenues at around 9 a.m. and closed off streets in the vicinity for more than an hour, according to reports. Police roped off an area in front of a McDonald's and people who work in buildings in the area were told to stay away, Fox5 reported.

No one was allowed to enter or exit the 42nd Street subway station, Fox5 reported, disabling a major point of transportation during morning rush hour.
