Authorities are working to identify two men who attempted to rape a woman south of Prospect Park early on Wednesday morning.

At around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday near the corner of Tennis Court and Ocean Avenue, the two suspects followed a woman, 25, as she walked along the street before one of the suspects pushed her against a parked car, kissed her neck and grabbed her vagina over her clothes, police reported.

The woman pushed the suspect off her and entered a nearby residential building, but the two men chased her into the building’s courtyard then into the vestibule of another building where they pinned her against a door and tried to pull off her pants, according to officials.

When the victim fought back, she was knocked to the ground by one of the men who then punched her in the face repeatedly. A resident then entered the vestibule and the suspects fled, police added.

Both suspects were described as 18- to 25-year-old black or Hispanic men, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 with medium builds.
