After a couple of "gotcha!" weekends for sun-seekers, this one's promising to be good. Start it with a glass of whatever makes you happy at The Pavilion, which reopens for its third year today in Union Square Park.
With 90 seats along the paved norther end of the park and another 90 underneath the breezy stone columns, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and, of course, weekend brunch. Chef Mario Urgiles has overhauled the menu — more than half of the seasonal American dishes are new, like green papaya salad and artichoke-spinach ravioli, served alongside a full bar of cocktails, craft beers and wines.
The Pavilion is open every day, 9 a.m. to midnight, through Oct. 15.
