The NYPD is investigating a particularly vicious stabbing that happened Tuesday night outside a Midtown East Duane Reade.

The sidewalk outside the Duane Reade at 485 Lexington (at 47th Street) became a crime scene when three attackers set upon an unsuspecting man.

“It was crazy, they went up on him and stabbed him in the back,” a witness told The Daily News. “It happened all of the sudden.”

The suspects then fled on foot, cops said. Eventually, The News quotes a source saying, they jumped into a Blue Honda Odyssey and drove off.

The gored victim was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
