Watch a cowboy on horseback stop NYC bridge traffic

A man riding a horse on the Outerbridge Crossing headed into Staten Island caused a Monday morning traffic jam.

Port Authority police followed closely as the horseback man lead another horse in crossing the bridge from New Jersey late on Monday morning, NBC4 reported.

Around 11:15 a.m., authorities arrived at the bridge to escort the rider safely across the span, the Staten Island Advance reported, adding that it was not clear if the man would face any consequences for his bridge-crossing ride.

The rider looked like Doc Mishler, a man getting attention onsocial mediafor his cross-country horseback ride to raise money for childhood hunger, according to the Advance.

On major roadways like the Outerbridge, pedestrians, bicycles and horses are generally unallowed,Fox5added.
