WATCH: Armed bandits hold up video game store in East Village

Two men weren’t playing around when they decided to rob an East Village video game store on Monday night.

The pair entered Video Games New York, at 202 E. Sixth St. about 11 p.m. armed with a gun and demanded money, police said.

One of the suspects — who was wearing a red hat with a black do-ragcovering his face — struck an employee in the head with the firearm, causing injuries, authorities said. Meanwhile, his partner — who was in a blue Dodgers hat and gray hooded sweatshirt —tried to tie up a second worker in a back aisle.

The suspects were able to flee on foot with $900 in cash from the register.

The injured clerk was transported to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated and released.

Police describe both suspects as black males in their early twenties. One man is about 5 feet 6 inches tall, while the second is around 6 feet.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
