Well, it's confirmed, New York is No. 1.

With teams like the Yankees, Mets, Rangers, Giants and Jets (to name a few), New Yorkers didn't really need to be told they're top dog, but they'll take the recognition in a recent study ranking the best sports cities in America conducted by WalletHub, a personal finance website.

The report ranked 423 cities based on more than 18 metrics including team performance, stadium accessibility, ticket prices, fan friendliness and fan engagement. The report looked at the data for the sports of baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer.

New York City was ranked first in baseball, No. 4 in hockey, No. 9 for baseball, No. 8 for football and No. 12 for basketball.

New York beat out cities like Boston, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles to earn the crown.

Twenty-four other New York cities made the list, including Albany, Syracuse, Schenectady, Binghamton and Buffalo.
