These aren’t the only surprising discoveries Spotify made while digging up data to see what New Yorkers were listening to. What people are listening to on Spotify varies greatly just here in New York City. East Villagers listen to The Weeknd more than any other artist while Soho residents prefer throwbacks like Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson. In Williamsburg, Justin Bieber and Fetty Wap are crazy popular while over in Bushwick, Future is streamed the most. People in Hudson Yards are really into Beach House.
