About 250 people danced in Times Square on Sunday to celebrate World Kindness Day on Sunday.
Orly Wahba founded the annual event, called Dance for Kindness, four years ago. This year’s event took place in 80 cities across the world.
Wahba said the idea for the flash mob, as well as her grassroots organization, called Life Vest Inside, is the idea of spreading small acts of kindness, which she learned while teaching seventh grade in Brooklyn. “A lot of people try to fight negativity with negativity,” Wahba said. “It doesn’t work that way.”
