The Smurfs
Does this movie look good or bad, and why?:
I think the movie looks colourful. But the lines, are they supposed to be funny?
Do you think kids will want to see this?
Yes, but not because it looks good. It is because it is their parents’ beloved characters and in 3-D.
What do you hope happens to the main characters?
I hope they go to Central Park.
What are the chances you’ll see it in the theatre?
I’d say about 27 per cent. It doesn’t sound as funny as its supposed to look.
Rio
Does this movie look good or bad?
It looks more good than bad. Kids really like Pedro, the red bird. Kids at my school are already copying his phrases.
Do you think kids will want to see this?
The bird versus monkey war makes kids fans in seconds.
What do you hope happens to the main characters?
I hope Rio gets a chance to swim in the ocean.
What are the chances you’ll see it in the theatre?
Probably a good 65 per cent. It is probably going to win awards.
The Zookeeper
Does this movie look good or bad?
It looks better than The Smurfs, but I wouldn’t give it a solid thumbs up.
Do you think kids will want to see this?
Yes. Little kids love talking animals. Movie companies love to make movies about kids’ favourite subjects.
What do you hope happens to the main characters?
I hope the monkeys make the zookeeper eat bananas and I hope he can ride on an elephant.
What are the chances you’ll see it in the theatre?
A 41 per cent chance. I don’t think it looks quite funny enough.
Winnie The Pooh
Does this movie look good or bad?
It looks funny. Good job, Disney!
Do you think kids will want to see this?
Yes, it seems better than I thought, but kids might look at it and say, “I don’t want to watch another Winnie the Pooh movie.”
What do you hope happens to the main characters?
I hope Owl stops being so bossy.
What are the chances you’ll see it in the theatre?
Maybe a 99 per cent. It looks pretty good!
Kung Fu Panda 2
Does this movie look good or bad?
Awesome, think I want to see it. This is a great movie for your kids.
Do you think kids will want to see this?
Of course! Who wouldn’t want to see a talking panda doing Kung Fu with Jack Black’s voice?
What do you hope happens to the main characters?
I hope the characters are the same as in the first one.
What are the chances you’ll see it in the theatre?
Probably 100 per cent. It looks cool!
Cars 2
Does this movie look good or bad?
Looks pretty good, I like it.
Do you think kids will want to see this?
Kids loved the movie Cars in 2006. What makes you think they wouldn’t like this one?
What do you hope happens to the main characters?
I just hope Sally comes back. In the trailer it doesn’t look like she does.
What are the chances you’ll see it in the theatre?
100 per cent. My Dad has figured it. Kids are gonna love this. It is a 10-year-old boy’s dream.
