Only 21 per cent of Canadians know that in this country a woman can have an abortion at any time during her pregnancy with no restrictions, according to Angus Reid survey results released yesterday.
The poll found 41per cent of Canadians mistakenly think abortions are only available during the first three months of pregnancy.
Nearly 20 per cent think abortions should only be legal in cases of emergency and nine per cent only support it if it saves a woman’s life.
Six per cent say it should be illegal, outright.
