A 39-year-old Texas man wanted for murder in the U.S. was arrested in Ottawa over the weekend following a joint investigation by Ottawa police and the Canada Border Services Agency.

Lox Gorme (also known as Misael Yacas) of Cypress Meadow, Texas was arrested at MacDonald-Cartier International Airport as he waited for a flight for Singapore.

Gorme is believed to have entered Canada via bus through Windsor, Ont. on July 30 and was screened by CBSA Officers.

Because no warrants were found in the system at that time, he was permitted to enter Canada.

Once the U.S. warrant was activated, the CBSA, Ottawa police and other law enforcement agencies immediately proceeded to track him down and make the arrest.

Gorme was turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency and is being held on the active warrant in the U.S.
