Angelica Kenova: Russian ‘human Barbie doll’ refuses to comment on plastic surgery

She’s an aspiring child psychologist but you’d think she’s a Barbie doll. Meet Angelica Kenova, the 25-year-old Muscovite with a striking resemblance to the famous girl toy but who claims to never have had any plastic surgery.

“Please don’t ask me about silicone breasts, removed ribs or plastic surgery. I don’t want to comment on these rumors,” she tells Metro. “Journalists who are looking for a sensation want to make me look stupid!”

Metro: Your makeup and sense of style enhances your Barbie looks, but does it not get in the way of having a regular life?

Kenova: I love attention and I like to be photographed. So I work as a model. I didn’t choose this image of myself. When I was a little girl and saw a Barbie doll, I was surprised that she looks like me. My parents dressed me like a doll. The fact that people call me “Russian Barbie” doesn’t bother me. This is my nickname from the childhood.

Do you play make-believe in your life?

Honestly, I sometimes pretend that I am stupid. I’m curious to see the reaction of people, especially from the boys. They think, “She must be silly, I can talk whatever I want.” But I understand everything and it’s funny.

You’re here at the interview with your mum. Does she always accompany you?

Yes, sometimes she goes with me on a date. I can’t even buy clothes without her. I understand that it’s bad and I must be independent, but I can’t. I really love my family. If I decide to live apart, it will be a scandal.
