A suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run slaying in Toronto’s entertainment district was arrested at Pearson airport yesterday.

Naveen Ariaratnam, 26, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the murder of Vincent Dang, 20, of Concord, was arrested after getting off a flight from Sri Lanka.

“Canada border services was made aware he was on the flight and they arrested him after it landed,” said Const. Wendy Drummond of the Toronto Police Service.

Dang was with friends at Rockwood Nightclub on Mercer Street when a dispute occurred between two groups of patrons and continued on the street outside at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 27.

Police said a man leaving in an SUV on Wellington St. with three to five passengers aboard made a u-turn and drove directly at Dang, who was on a sidewalk with friends. The vehicle then fled.
