B.C. Bachelorette chooses Ed

Jillian Harris, the first-ever Canadian star of “The Bachelorette,” is set to choose between the charming Kiptyn and the sweet-natured Ed on tonight’s finale of the reality dating series.

The bubbly brunette puts the final two hunks through one last compatibility test when she introduces them to her parents, grandmother and cousin on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Network officials promise a dramatic ending to Harris’s rocky ride to romance, with “a surprise confession” waiting for her in tonight’s episode.

Harris must decide between the 31-year-old Kiptyn Locke, a business developer from Encinitas, Calif., and 29-year-old Ed Swiderski, a technology consultant from Chicago.

In previous years, “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” have typically ended with an engagement, but more recently have concluded with a commitment to pursue a relationship off-camera.

Harris, a restaurant designer based in Vancouver, is revealing nothing about her decision, but has said in a recent interview that she’s happy with the outcome.

Tonight’s finale is followed by the special, “After the Final Rose,” airing Tuesday on ABC and Citytv.
