B.C. Mounties recover boats stolen from U.S. Navy

Two boats stolen from the United States Navy have been recovered by the Mounties in British Columbia.

A 44-foot (13.5 metres) U.S. Navy Sailboat and a 28-foot (8.5 metres) Boston Whaler were located on communities along the Sunshine Coast. The two vessels represent only a small portion of the property recovered in a much larger investigation that took place in the U.S. that includes cars, trucks, planes and electronics stolen from the navy over several years.

All of the suspects involved are facing charges in that country, according to RCMP Sgt. Stuart Falebrinza.

The larger boat was found in Sechelt and towed by an RCMP vessel to a secure location. The Whaler was located at a property in the community of Garden Bay.
