Bomb threat brings police

Police were called to Sackville High School late Thursday morning in response to a bomb threat.

According to RCMP Const. Tamu Bracken, there was no bomb found in the school, and students were not evacuated.

The threatening phone call appeared to have been made “from a payphone somewhere outside the school” said Bracken.

School Board spokesman Doug Hadley explained that there was never any real risk to students.

“All of our school principals have been trained in threat and risk assessment … they would have made an assessment as to whether or not they felt it was credible or there was a real threat to the student’s safety,” Hadley said when asked why students were not pulled out of class.

Police say no one has been arrested or charged in the incident.
