One hundred of Boston’s top chefs will come together next week at Fenway Park to raise more than $1 million for The One Fund Boston.
Spearheaded by celebrity chefs Ken Oringer & Ming Tsai, along with the Boston Red Sox, Gov. Deval Patrick, Mayor Tom Menino and Aramark, the Boston Bites Back tasting event kicks off May 15 at 6 p.m. at Fenway Park, inviting Bostonians to indulge in some top notch food and drink while raising money for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
“[Boston Bites Back] is an opportunity for the city to join as one and acknowledge our strength as a community,” said Ken Oringer, owner of Clio, Toro, Coppa & Uni. “Nothing speaks more to our collective resolve than an evening of hospitality, unity and hometown pride in one of the most iconic venues in Boston – Fenway Park.”
“Food is our common ground, a universal experience,” said Ming Tsai, owner of Blue Ginger & Blue Dragon. “This event is an occasion for Bostonians to reconnect over food, mingle with chefs and honor our city’s inspiring resilience. It’s an opportunity for Bostonians to literally ‘bite’ back.”
Until 10 p.m., chefs will cook and serve guests from behind concession stands as well as at tables throughout the Big Concourse and the Budweiser deck.
Tickets cost $200, with 5,000 general access tickets available. There are also 200 VIP tickets at $1,000 each, allowing additional access to a gathering in Fenway’s EMC Club.
An online auction leading up to the event will feature many one-of-a-kind packages including unique dining experiences from Oringer & Tsai, personal shopping with fashion expert Gretta Monahan and offers from hometown sports venues.
