Boston to light Nova Scotia tree

A holiday tradition continues tonight when a Nova Scotia tree is lit on the Boston Common.

A holiday tradition continues tonight when a Nova Scotia tree is lit on the Boston Common. Each year since 1971, the province sends a Christmas tree to the people of Boston to recognize them for their help following the Halifax Explosion on Dec. 6, 1917. This year’s tree is a 15-metre white spruce from Gary and Roseann Misner of King’s County.
