As a Gen-Y'er on a show about sex, The Hills star Lo Bosworth said becoming the face of a birth-control product was the responsible thing to do to.
Bosworth, 22, whose name is Lauren but she goes by Lo, has spent the past six years on the small screen as one of the stars of MTV’s reality show Laguna Beach and its popular spin-off The Hills.
“I feel (birth control) is something that is no longer ignored – people talk about it,” said Bosworth, who was in Vancouver Wednesday to promote Yaz, a new birth control pill.
Bosworth was initially reluctant to become a spokeswoman for the contraceptive, but said she researched the drug’s claims and was won over.
The Hills is entering its fifth season and Bosworth says the show is successful because it’s relatable and yet fantastical.
“Everybody goes through break-ups and fights with their friends and new relationships. Everyone relates to it in a very good way and love the show because it’s pretty and glamorous.”
