Calgary cops still probe death

Calgary police officers continue to investigate a fatal shooting in Kamloops, B.C., said acting staff Sgt. Rick Tuza.

Tuza said Calgary continues to play an active role in the investigation of an officer-involved shooting on Friday.

“We’re still working out the details as to when the shots were fired,” Tuza said, adding the driver was struck at least once.

Tuza said two plainclothes RCMP officers parked their unmarked minivan behind a Toyota 4Runner when the vehicle suddenly rammed them.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, but media reports say the man was named Wilbert Bartley and the shooting may have stemmed from a stolen car investigation.
