Cheers to charity

Comedy and music for a good cause took over the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax on Saturday night. The International Women’s Day Dinner and Silent Auction treated guests to some laughs and raised money for Bryony House.

On the way downtown, I ran into a group of well-dressed wedding guests who were celebrating at the Marriott Harbourfront. After a quick stop, it was on to Stayners Wharf to catch Brett Ryan’s first set of the night. He was warming the place up for their seventh annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

And speaking of the most Irish of days, I managed to catch two parades in celebration.

Saturday morning, the North End of Halifax was green from the Hydrostone Market to St Patrick’s Church. Then on Sunday afternoon a group of Wheaten Terrier owners took their annual St. Paddy’s walk along the Halifax waterfront.
