City to fund non-profit community initiatives

The city is calling for non-profit community organizations in Ottawa to submit applications for new community funding priorities and initiatives in crime prevention.?

The community funding is available for projects that encourage positive and sustainable changes in planning, service delivery and improved health in neighbourhoods; that promote healthy living and physical activity in children and seniors; and encourage the integration of low-income or marginalized residents into their neighbourhoods.?

Crime Prevention Ottawa funding projects should be based on research and effective practices and target specific crime issues, like violence against women, or address risk factors associated with crime.?

The applications are now available and must be postmarked or received by April 22.?
