On the heels of some arguably bumbling attempts to appeal to millennials, Hillary Clinton followed in the footsteps of President Obama Thursday when she appeared on the web series “Between Two Ferns” — and however you feel about her politics, it’s pretty dang funny.
For the woefully uninitiated: The show, hosted by comedian and actor Zach Galifianakis, is a surrealistic play on the standard talk show format, in which a clumsy and inelegant Galifianakis interviews a public figure, often playing the worst version of themselves with a wink and a nod.
Clinton, for her part, seems to mostly nod and laugh through some of Galifianakis’ awkward line of questioning, at one point (jokingly?) saying “I really regret doing this.”
“What happens if you become pregnant?” Galifianakis asks at one point. “Are we gonna be stuck with [vice presidential candidate] Tim Kaine for nine months? How does this work?”
“I could send you some pamphlets that might help you understand,” Clinton dryly replies.
"When you see how well it works for Donald Trump, do you ever think to yourself, ‘Oh, maybe I should be more racist?’" the comedian asks.
Clinton appears to suppress a laugh and just shakes her head.
Obama appeared on the web-based program in 2014 as an attempt to encourage young people to sign up for the health care exchange markets.
