Cary Booker, father of Newark mayor and Senate hopeful Cory Booker, died this morning at the age of 76, reports the Wall Street Journal. Booker, one of the first black executives at IBM, had struggled with Parkinson's disease and recently had a stroke. He died in Las Vegas.
Cary Booker's death came just six days from the special election for an open U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey. Cory Booker canceled campaign events today.
