Donald Trump lies and says he might still run for President

Donald Trump is not going to actually run for President.

However, it’s been a while since his name was in the papers, and so Trump decided to do what he always does: Pretend he’s going to run for President to get attention!

In an interview with CNN Monday afternoon, the Donald spit out his usual routine, only this time it was the economic crisis and not the President’s birth certificate that gave the self-promoting charlatan a platform to announce his not-at-all serious Presidential ambitions.

“If the economy continues to go the way it’s going, and if the Republicans pick the wrong candidate, I would certainly consider [running,]” Trump told the cable network.

Trump previously floated the possibility of running this spring, but dropped out May 16 after increased media attention led to him slipping in the polls.

Not content to let a window of media interest go unexploited, Trump also went on the Fox network to talk about America’s credit rating downgrade. He said he thought it was a time for serious discussion of our nation’s fiscal future. Just kidding!

From the International Business Times:

Trump believes the whole thing is a “publicity stunt” by S&P.

“I can just see these guys sitting in their little office on Wall St. or wherever they are, saying ‘we’re going to take down the United States!,” he told Fox television.

“Because they want the publicity, because the want to restore their reputation [from the housing and mortgage crisis]. They love it.”

It’s tempting to make fun of Trump for his hypocrisy here, but the more interesting thing about this is: Does Donald Trump see everything’s through the lens of publicity stunts? Since everything he does is for attention, is he not aware that other people do things for other reasons?
