Doris Roberts, the Emmy-award winning actress known for ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ has died at the age of90, TMZ reported Monday night. Roberts, who played Marie Barone, the beloved yet overbearing mother in the hit sitcom, reportedly died Sunday in Los Angeles.
The five-time Emmy-award winnerwas also known for her roles in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and “Grandma’s Boy.”
The St. Louis–born actress reportedly got her start on Broadway in the 1950s, according to US Magazine. After news of Roberts’ death broke, former colleagues paid their respects on social media.
